Universitas Pelita Harapan was founded upon a clear vision which is “To be a Christ-centered university founded upon and promoting true knowledge, faith in Christ and godly character aiming to develop God-fearing, competent and professional future leaders through excellent, holistic and transformational education.” A clean, safe, comfortable, green, healthy, and energy efficient campus is needed to support the implementation of Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education) and to produce graduates according to the university’s vision and mission.

Therefore, Universitas Pelita Harapan made a commitment to be a green campus as stated in Rector’s Regulation: ‘Peraturan Rektor Universitas Pelita Harapan No. 010 year 2021 about Green Campus Policy’ which is oriented on environment management planning, water, paper, and electricity conservation, as well as land greening. The aims of this movement are to maximize greeneries, maintain green buildings, enhance cleanliness and environmental comfort, and increase environmental awareness from all academic communities and awareness on work safety and disaster response.
