Solar Panel Constructed and Installed by Electrical Engineering Department UPH
Department of Electrical Engineering UPH offers course on Solar Energy. Besides theory in classroom, students also perform lab works on configuration of solar power system, characteristics of PV-modules, configuration of solar street lighting system, and design of off-grid solar power system using “UPH Solar PJU Calculator” software.
An educational demo model on installation of solar panels on rooftop was constructed inhouse in Power Engineering Laboratory of Department of Electrical Engineering UPH.
Using this model, students can learn about racking system used in professional installation of rooftop solar power system on two kinds of roof, i.e. wavy roof (either plastic or metallic roof) and rooftile.
